Tom Hanks-2-1024x767Thomas Jeffrey Hanks was born on July 9 1956. He is an American actor as well as a filmmaker and director. Popular for his dramatic and comedic performances, he is considered to be one of the most popular and recognizable film stars worldwide and is considered an American famous cultural icon. Thomas Jeffrey Hanks was the father of Janet Marylyn, a hospital worker, and Amos Mefford Hanks (an itinerant chef). His mother was named "Fraga" while his father was predominantly English. Tom was raised in the family of a "fractured family". He had no experience acting in college and attributes his inability to be cast in a university production with launching his career. He was an auditioner in downtown Cleveland for a community theater production. Then it was announced that he would be invited to Cleveland by the director. This was where his acting career began.
